Group 2 Resources
Group 2 Resources refers to residential resources operated by external agencies to support children who are not living with their families. These resources provide services to children experiencing serious psychological, emotional and behavioral difficulties.
Currently, the Department of Family Services and Housing manages decisions and the financial resources required to place children in these residential care facilities. The Province is meeting with the new Authorities regarding long-standing concerns of Aboriginal peoples about the continuing relevance, cultural appropriateness and cost-effectiveness of these services. New organizational and funding relationships could result that will more closely reflect the cultural priorities and service objectives of the Authorities.
Goal of This Sub-Project:
To establish a process to negotiate the services that fall under Group 2 Resources as defined in the Conceptual Plan.
